Asus K56CA Maximum Ram

I have an Asus K56CA laptopwith 4 gb ramI am planning to upgrade the ram. I did the crucial scan and it said the maximum memory that can be supported is 16 gb, but Asus site tell 8 gb. What should I do. Should I go with Crucial. Then I am planning to get a 8 gb stick. Can someone help me make a decision ?

If I were you I would go with the manufacturer's recommended limits as going above them normally doesn't end well.
