Hello everyone. Today I got a problem with my asus laptop.
The laptop doesn't turn on. Black screen, power indicator shows green light, battery indicator shows red light. When turning on the laptop without the battery results in two short beeps.
Do not say anything that requires to look into my laptop screen because it is black. And the battery is not working.
The laptop is Asus x50n. CPU amd 64 athlon x2. Graphics: nVIDIA GeForce 7000M. Memory 1024MB

And I noticed the beeping problem: it beeps when there is no disc in the drive

Sorry for bad english. I'm lithuanian

I can't find specifics on that laptop, but the system 'beeps' are BIOS related.
Depending on the BIOS manufacturer, the beeps can mean different things (I don't know why they wouldn't just standardize those).

2 Beeps can mean a CMOS error - at which point, removing the little silver battery inside (looks like a watch battery), waiting 5 mins and reinstalling may fix it. You can also replace it at this point, since the laptop appears to be older. Exactly where that battery is, or how to disassemble your laptop to get to it, I don;t know & can find no manuals or videos for it.

2 Beeps can also be a memory error. You could try removing your RAM modules (usually an easy-ish to remove panel on the underside of the laptop). The to boot with no RAM and you should get a different beep code.
From there, insert one module back in (assuming you have two) and try again.

I'm assuming, given the spec and the fact I can't seem to find any documentation online for this specific laptop, it's quite old. It's entirely possible you're dealing with a motherboard failure. If that's the case, a new laptop is likely in order, as replacing motherboards in laptops is not really cost effective.

Hopefully it's the RAM (you can start with that as it's easier than getting to the CMOS) or a CMOS error that can be relatively easy fixes.
