Hi all,

My laptop, an Asus R556L, has this problem what makes my laptop rarely function online. For some time now, my laptop often first refuses to connect and once it does connect, it drops after a few minutes. And when I try to reconnect it, it keeps trying to 'connect'. The issue seems to occur mostly when I'm connected to WiFi from school, and other public WiFi but sometimes at home as well.

If it doesn't connect after starting the laptop, I either run the basic right click trouble shoot option of windows and then in connects (often only once for a short time). I also try going to the admin cmd and enter: netsh winsock reset. Then I restart and often it works again, but often only once before restarting and a short time.

The WiFi connections are available to connect at all times.

I hope all of this makes any sense because it's driving me crazy. I hope someone can help.

Thanks

Solution
Verify that you only have one network adapter enabled: either wifi or wired.

Use Resource Monitor and take a look at the Network tab.

Watch all four categories and look for something that changes as the wifi connection drops and returns.

Leave the Resource Monitor window open and slide to one side so you can watch while a restart is made.

Tried this, thought it worked but no..
