Asus laptop is taking a long time to update

My asus X540s is currently updating to windows 10 and its taking forever. it only shows the asus logo with the "in search for incredible" slogan over and over again. every thirty seconds or so, the screen goes black and then the logo and sloagan pop up again, all the while the round loading sign is loading on the bottom.
