ASUS Laptop NOT Charging with AC cord. Help!

I have a company ASUS laptop computer. Wea no longer have an IT employee to troubleshoot. I am NOT a technical person and have no background working on computers. HELP! My laptop quit charging with the cord.

I have tried the following:
1. Changing outlets - no change
2. Removing battery and AC and holding down the power button for 20 seconds and reinserting the battery and ac cord.
3. Laptop is approx. 2 years old as is the battery.
4. I have inspected the AC cord and see no damage.
5. Port seems to still be firm but again, no experience here.

HELPPPP running out of juice and I need to work!

It's almost certainly one of two things:

1. The battery needs to be replaced.
2. The motherboard needs to be reworked or replaced.

The battery would be the cheaper and easier component to deal with. The motherboard will be more costly, and the laptop will need to be with a shop or contracted service facility for it, as it's much more involved than replacing the battery.
