I have a less than year old Asus X555LAB laptop that has serious issues with the wifi adaptor - Realtek 8821ae.
It will randomly disconnect several times an hour, turning off and on again is the only way to get it back online.
It is not the provider or router as I have tested it on several different ISPs (and phones/tablets have no issues).
Windows 10 does not do it as often, but it happens, I've updated the drivers there also.
Have a dual boot to Linux Mint which disconnects every five minutes or so, using rtl8821ae driver.
So it does not appear to be software related, is the wifi adaptor toast? Should I use a USB one instead (shame on such a new laptop).
Thanks in advance.
