you can get one of those decent korean ips/pls monitors... theyre 2560x1440, and can be overclocked to 120hz... they're 27" big though... you can find them for like $300 on ebay

the build quality i heard is subpar, but if you get a good one, nothing can beat it

I remember working on a such monitor from Silicon Graphics Inc or SGI. It was one quality badass monitor.
Ahh. good old memories.

I don't have any use for an ultrawide monitor, except maybe when playing FPS games, which I don't do very often. A 27" 2560x1600 monitor at a similar price point would be far more useful to me.

Some information regarding aforementioned monitors I have learned through experience:

The display panels are high quality LG units.

The frame/bezel/stand are often low quality (stand replacement helps a lot)

Most of the units will only overclock to 65-67Hz. The 120Hz overclockable "2B" versions sell more than double in price on auction sites. For a couple hundred dollars, a swap of a couple PCBs can be made to run the 2560x1440 panel to 120Hz, this also helps availability, as the 120Hz models are rare. A guy in the US sells PCB kits for this purpose.

Modified display drivers must be used to get the 2560x1440 panels to 120Hz. Older graphics cards and SLi/Crossfire setup also require modifications to GPU drivers involving pixel clock speeds.

Keep it. Maybe this is something good for the home, but in a enterprise environment, employees want more height than width. That aspect ratio is suited for movies...
