I know it's an older mobo but I'm looking for an upgrade to my current CPU (Athlon x2 4200+). I've seen what the mobo can handle but figured someone other than me would know the best chip for the mobo :) Thanks in advance

Athlon x2 4200+ has there different type of sockets, http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/TYPE-Athlon%2064%20X2.html but from the MB I guess it is the AM2 one.

And because you don't say where you are, I list some of the MBs that supports the Athlon x2 4200+ (AM2) and I recommend to buy the most newer AMD chipset MB because you can upgrade the CPU later if you want.

You can google " AM3+/AMD3/AM2+/AM2 motherboard" to find the one you want too.

I think he wants a cpu upgrade not a motherboard upgrade(if I understood it correctly).
btw thats some old hardware there, i don't know if you'll still find one anywhere. If it's your main rig, try building a new pc. It won't cost you allot but it will be much better than that 4200+. You can look into some APU's if you considering a new pc.
If it's your secondary rig, an bios update and maybe a Phenom X4 9350 might work, i'm not sure.
