ASUS M4A89GTD PRO with 1600MHz RAM?

will ASUS M4A89GTD PRO run with CORSAIR 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz?
in the mobo specs (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A89GTD_PROUSB3/#specifications) is:
memory: 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1333/1066

so I assume it will not work with native 1600? must buy 1333?

another question: does using 2x2GB makes any difference in performance vs 1x4GB stick?

It will work, it will be down clocked. I have Corsair 2x2GB kit CMXG4GX3M2A1600C9
or on corsair site CMX4GX3M2A1600C9, extra G was a product code to make it unique on Best Buy. This is 4GB XMS Memory kit for dual channel systems, 1600MHz, 9-9-9-24, 1.65V.

Using 1 stick will result in single channel memory utilization. two matched sticks in two blue slots will enable dual channel, btter performance.
