I have a pretty old desktop which is facing issues as it suddenly powers off which I believe is due to power supply issues.
My Setup --
ASUS M5A78L-M LX Motherboard
AMD FX6100 Processor
G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB RAM
Forse NVidia GT 610 2GB Graphics card

Current power supply is 500Watts. Is it enough or do you think I need to raise it?

Solution
I even bet that that power supply does not have a true rectifier bridge, or filters at the entrance. So yes it's broken maybe on the regulators or capacitors, and yes the brand sucks.
you need a PSU with good and steady power delivery like EVGA, Silverstone, Corsair, and others.

Modern PSU's are compatible with almost anything, just make sure you have the right Wattage needed and Amps too

Any reason how you can say defective? Do you mean it's not enough? Or are you saying Supercomp is not a reputable manufacturer? Any suggestions as to which one is good? Do PSUs have any compatibility specs or something?

Thanks a lot. That helped. Will get onto it immediately.

If PSU has more wattage it shouldn't be a problem right? I will o for 750Watts now keeping in mind extra SATA components I might need for later.
