Recently ive purchased an AMD FX-8350 to replace a FX-4350, However after ordering ive seen that people have ran into some issues with the M5A78L-M/USB3, because the VRM'S have no heatsink and thus the cpu can throttle alot.

The case I am using is a H440 with pretty decent wire management and airflow, and temps are good under load with all components:

  • GPU (760) never goes above 70c

And my soon to be replaced CPU with amd's crappy stock cooler will get up to 65c - 70c with prime95 running for 10 mins, that being said the cooler is quite dusty.
My question is will the FX-8350 be OK to use until I can afford a new motherboard in a few months? And is there any tips you guys have on reducing throttling when playing games like GTAV?

NOTE: I am not planning on doing any overclocking until I get a better board, I understand that's out of the question.

Well I wouldn't do it. The FX8350 may officially be on the support list, but that motherboard really isn't good enough to run it without throttling. BUT... the FX4350 is 125w just like the FX8350 so if your FX4350 word without throttling, the FX8350 should too.

Having said all that, why did you replace the FX4350? If it's for gaming, the FX8350 is not much of an upgrade. If you are planning on a motherboard upgrade soon, send the FX8350 back, keep the FX4350 for now, and then buy something different completely than the 5 year old AMD AM3+ motherboard + FX combo. I really really don't recommend buying a new AM3+ motherboard for any reason.

I dont plan on really upgrading this PC much more past this processor, but more and more games are taking advantage of the higher core count so thats why I chose the 8350. Weather it was a good decision or not, its on its way and I dont have the patience to RMA from UK to germany (where I ordered it from).

Thanks for the reassurance on the throttling issue, I didnt realise that it was wattage that would effect that, it makes sense though since they are both vishera CPU's and the 4350 has been smooth, only struggling when games simply got too demanding for it. So hopefully the 8350 will be smooth also.

This is simply not true. People have been saying this for years, but it has yet to become reality. The truth is, the dual core i3 6100 beats the 8 core FX8350 in almost every single game on the market.
