Asus M5A78L-M-USB3 Memory Compatibilty

reposting this to the memory forum, was in the MB forum.....



I have the ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 MB with a SolidGear 650W Power Supply (SDGR-650E). I am running a AMD FX-8300 CPU.


Can I use 2 sticks of:

PNY XLR8 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz CAS 10 Desktop Kit (PC3 14900)
Part Number - MD8192SD3-1866-K-X10

In this setup? The memory is not listed on the ASUS QVL list.

It will work, the memory stick's don't specifically need to be on the "memory support list", any memory that is DDR3 compatible will work.

Should be fine, with your CPU if anything, may need to take DRAM voltage to 1.55
