ASus m5a78lm/usb3 motherboard failed , work with new ga-78lmt-s2pt but not ga-78lmt-usb3

Amd fx 6300 mb failed , a person who i know and trust , who is a computer technician told that lower end ga-78lmt-s2pt supports but he had problems running ga-78lmt-usb3 , he told my fx 6300 can only support in that board(ga-78lmt-s2pt) but not ga-78lmt-usb3,is he right? , or it could be problem with usb3 board.

Look at CPU support list for each MB:

Supports only Bulldozer cores like FX 6100
ga-78lmt-usb3 http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=5195
And this one Vishera cores like FX 6300. so this one is more likely to work with your processor.

GA-78LMT-USB3 can run a 95w CPU , as long as there's no overclocking , the other board doesn't support it.​

I would actually skip either one, both are just at edge of usability with FX processors. and both can give 95W, that's not the problem.

Micro boards are poor choices for the FX chips , they have poor power and thermal designs.I would Avoid both like he stated.​

he tells me that my fx 6300 only supports with ga-78lmt-s2pt model or is he wrong did he check a faulty ga-78lmt-usb3 board i had also sent a link to him to this forum

The other way around if you look at those charts, ga-78lmt-usb3 fully supports FX 6300 while the other one only FX x1xx but in all likelihood may support FX x3xx processors too.
