Asus M5A97 Bios Update Problem

I am trying to update my BIOS on my M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard so that certain games will work. I downloaded the .rom file from the Asus website, and when I go to the EZ BIOS updater, it will say "Selected file is not a EFI BIOS!". I have a feeling that this is due to the .rom file not being .cap. How is it that I could change the file type?
