Why is my Video Card Limited to PCIe X4 according to GPU-Z?

AMD FX-8120 3.1Ghz
Asus M5A97 Mobo
2 x 4GB RipjawsX DDR3 1333
Palit Geforce GT 440 1GB DDR5

Anythning could be done to make it X16? Ive already installed it in the x16 slot (Blue) which according the Asus manual is a x16..

Asus manuals contain a lot of errors.
You may have the card plugged into the wrong slot, or just a bad motherboard.
