ASUS-M5A97 LE R2 Cooling help

I have a Hyper 212 EVO, which I installed twice, I get hot temps like 47*c idle.

I am trying to run a push pull config to see if the temps get better, but my MOBO only has one CPU_Fan connecter. Can I just plug the other fan that attaches to the heatsink, into the Chasis fan connecter?

Yes give it a try and monitor the temps, should work fine

Do you not have a chasis fan or is it connected to the power supply?

Most mobos have multiple chassis fan connections

All my Chasis fans are connected to my psu, yes.

Also, if I stick the other fan in the chasis fan socket, will I be able to control the speed like the other cpu fan?
2 cpu fans running at different speeds might reduce airflow if they're that close.

Could my high temps also be just from the cooler itself? With my stock cooler I got around 47*c with load.
I followed all of the correct install procedures. So I am not quite sure how that could be happening.

I removed the old thermal paste, added some arctic silver 5, made sure everything is secure ect.
