Asus m5a97 pro boot device led stays on

Hi i recently rushed into swapping my pc case & forgot which devices were in which sata ports. Now everytime i power on my pc the boot device led stays on and i cant get into bios by pressing delete. I have 2 questions. Do the sata devices need to be in the same ports as before? Why cant i get into bios?

1. no, all the sata ports on your mobo are sata 6.0 so there shouldn't be an issue there
2. it sounds like you need to reset your CMOS. there should be jumpers on your mobo, your manual for your mobo will come in handy here, reset it and follow the instructions and you should be able to access your bios.

Ok so i reset the cmos and still the led stays on and im greeted with the asus splash screen saying please press del to enter uefi. When i press delete it wont go to bios. Could this be because im using usb keyboard. I have also tried all the usb ports

it could be, i havent run into the issue personally but that could be it. wireless keyboards also cause the issue, and i also have a universal gamepad thats usb that tends to not let me enter my bios when it's plugged in.

Is there a component you've upgraded/added when installing the board in the new case? If not, I suggest testing the board outside the case, with a minimum configuration (one RAM stick, GPU, DVD drive, keyboard and mouse. See if still the same.

I havent upgraded any components but i will try your suggestion and post the results.

Ok i did what you said but now i get past the splash screen and onto detecting drives 0 devices found then a blank screen still cant get into bios. I tried with 2 ram sticks & i get stuck at the detecting drives please wait. Im kinda thinking this must now be a ram issue because the more i put in the less it responds. Anymore help will be greatly appreciated but im up on my patience now
