i recently got this motherboard cheap.. and i was wondering if a socket AM3 processor will work in a socket am3plus+ MB.

Yes, you should be able to fit an AM3 CPU into a new AM3+ board...are you referencing Phenom IIs?

Of course. AM3+ is a modification of AM3, it will work with no worries.
