Hello everybody,

I wanted to know if somebody could tell me the best settings for the mainboard M5A97 R2.0 in terms of CPU. What I mean are power saving settings, throttling etc which could take some heat out of the northbridge or improve the overall performance.

And what about the 'premade' settings the board offers? Are they useful? I am talking about these:

Maybe someone here has some experience with the Asus BIOS and can give me some useful tips here.

I am currently using the Mugen4 Max. My CPU is idling at ~25° and reaching 55° under load when playing a game. But I wanted to draw some heat from the Mainboard-Heatsinks since they reach 70° easily, so I thought there may be some settings to achieve that.

There MIGHT be something useful in the advanced settings. However it's more likely you need to take a look at your case cooling to address the chipset coolers. I've noticed on my board they do get a little hot.

Keep in mind the EZ settings are just so that people don't have to think to have a stable running system.

Sorry - but EZ settings? I don't know what that is, or maybe i just dont know the term.

The EZ settings are the first page you get when accessing the BIOS on that board. There is advanced settings. The picture you posted is of the EZ settings. You are likely OK in settings if using these.
