Asus M5A97 R2.0 CPU Fan runs at 720rpm~ no matter what.

I've been trying to change the speed of my CPU fan for awhile now and have hit a brick wall. I've tried using a different fan and it still sits around 720rpm no matter what. I was unable to get smartfan to work at all and Q-Fan control doesn't make a difference either. When I run a Fan Xpert test the rpm sits around 720rpm at all power levels aswell.

I was unable to find anything in my BIOS besides Q-Fan control and "Cool N Quiet". I also tried changing the EPU and that didn't do anything either.

Page 3-21 to 3-22 of your MB manual explains the various ways to control the CPU cooler's fan. Try it with Q-Fan on and then with it off. With it off and the profile set to turbo, I would expect the fan to run at 100%.

Fan expert is a part of asus ai suite, and ai suite messed up my computer so much that it would not perform properly. It might be something similar happening to you. I have the same motherboard as you do.
