So I have had this build for a couple of years now and i am getting some problems. when playing a game like Battlefield 4 the two heat sinks next to the CPU socket get extremely hot. after gaming for about an hour my PC shuts down with no warning and when i feel the little heat sinks on the motherboard they are almost too hot to touch.(especially the high one underneath the CPU.) when i take of the side panel i can play for a couple of hours more but for example GTA5 crashes after just 10 minutes of playing.
i was thinking because i have a water cooled CPU the airflow was not good enough so i put an extra fan above the CPU to get more airflow but it did not really help. i read some posts about the Asus m5a97 r2.0 not handling the FX processors very well so is this why it is getting so hot? i set the CPU preset in the BIOS to power saving but it did not help.
it could also be the power supply? i have an AMD sapphire r9 290 tri-x GPU and i heard they are not very power sufficient.
i am now thinking of buying a new motherboard if its the right thing to do. (suggestions for a motherboard are appreciated) if it is the best thing to do do you have some suggestions? i don`t have a lot of money so i hope that just changing the motherboard will fix it. or does my sharkoon t28 not have a good airflow?
if someone can please tell me how to add a picture that could help explain what heatsinks are getting too hot.
(sorry for bad English)
