Hey Guys,

I just recently got the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 Mother Board, and I tried 3 different RAMs (Corsair Vengeance LP 2x8GB, two types of those, and Patriot Viper 2x8GB), and each time, it lit up the DIMM_LED light meaning that the RAMs were either incompatible or weren't installed correctly (this was found in the manual). So I pressed the MemOK! button like the manual told me to, but it still did not work. Then I decided to just buy ones from the Qualified Vendor List and got a Kingston 4x4GB [Model No. KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX(XMP)]. It just came today and I tried installing the new RAMs, but then again, the DIMM_LED lit up again. I tried pressing the MemOK! button, and it still did not work. I'm not sure if it's just the RAMs that is the problem, or if it might have something to do with the CPU. My CPU is an AMD FX-6300. Please help! This is very frustrating.

Thanks,
Zenniful

Solution
Clear the CMOS. (Section 1.2.7 of manual)
Put two Kingston modules in either the blue or black slots.
Restart the PC and enter the BIOS setup.
Load optimized defaults from BIOS Exit menu (Section 3.9)
Enter any custom settings you have, if any.

Change Ai Overclock Tuner from [Auto] to [Manual] (Section 3.4.1)

The Kingston memory requires 1.65v DRAM voltage, not 1.5v. (Section 3.4.16)
Change DRAM Voltage from [Auto] to [1.65v].

Change Memory Frequency from [Auto] to [DDR3-1600MHz] (Section 3.4.5)

Adjust first four settings in DRAM Timing Control (Section 3.4.11)
Starting with CAS Latency, set to 9-9-9-27

Save and Exit BIOS.
See how that runs and then add the other two RAM modules.

The BIOS version is 1503.

EDIT: Actually, I am unsure. Before this memory problem, I had a problem with my CPU, which was that some of the pins were bent, therefore the LEDs were not lit up, so I was assuming that something was wrong with the BIOS version, so I tried to update the BIOS to 1708. However, I'm not sure if it worked since the processor wasn't correctly installed, so it is probably 1503, but it may also be 1708. Sorry for my stupidty :/

Actually, after I found the bent pins, I straightened them with a needle and then a credit card to ensure that they were all straight. I did it like this: http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-Bent-Pins-on-a-CPU

If you happen to get the beast working, forget about the 4 x 4gb of ram, you'd only be using 2 x4gb at most as Kingston 4x4GB [Model No. KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX(XMP)] is Quad Channel ram and in a dual channel board, you can only use two sticks if the sticks themselves are Dual/Quad compatible.

I am having a similar issue. I am trying to install a copy on Windows 7 Professional and consistently am getting blue screens during install (multiple errors, most memory/paging related)
"Page fault in non paged area"
I also have the ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard with Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 8GB (2 x 4GB)
specs for the memory:
DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Timing 11-11-11-28
Cas Latency 11
Voltage 1.35V
I have updated the Bios to the latest version 1903. I tried to use the suggestions in this thread as a starting location. Any suggestions? Thanks
