Need a new power supply for my computer. It had a RaidMax AT X12V Power 500W and it burned out last night. Should I consider getting a high wattage? It has 8 GB of Ram and not sure what else you might need to know. Thanks!

That motherboard support 125W CPUs so a 500 to 600W power supply should be fine. An EVGA, or Seasonic, both of which are quality brands should be fine.

Great thanks. Yeah I'd like to get a better quality one. I have replaced many things, but never a power supply, so kinda surprised it went.

If this is the EVGA B1 600W, then it is kind of iffy. EVGA makes many models. A link would be helpful. BUT, if you have a specific model in mind use the forum search and see what has been said about that model.

Did you pick that because it can be purchased locally? If you read this thread -- http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3306276/evga-600w-psu-100-0600-sufficient-power-system.html the "W1" EVGA line is one of their lower quality products.

Power supply is the LAST place to cheap out. That $40 price is enticing, but you pay for poor quality in the long run.
