Asus M5A97 R2.0 VS Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0
I'm mostly interested if the 990X chipset is better than the 970 in terms of real-life performance.

If it makes a difference I have:
FX-8350
GTX770
Corsair CX600M

no difference really just better over clocking potential
its more of ap remium class board (990fx chipset) but u get alot of i o ports

Better get the Asus M5A99X, better thermal design, better power phase design of 6+2 (instead of M5A97's 4+2), SLI/Crossfire able.
You can overclock on M5A97, still good motherboard, but the 990 will be more stabile, cooler and will achieve greater Ghz.
