Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Last week while using my computer it restarted twice on me. I would be on the internet or editing videos and it just restarted out of nowhere. So I was thinking it had to be a heat issue after realizing how quick the temperature rises while rendering a video and the fact the one of my fans had an extremely low rpm.

After a few hours my computer didn't restart and I thought I was golden. It restarted again and that was it for me. I opened my case made sure everything was plugged correctly and cleared off some dust. I also turned all fans to high and that fixed the low rpm issue. The GPU fans run and I did see a green light lit all the time on the bottom right of the GPU.

Here's the good one though, so not only did it not restart today but now it doesn't even start. CPU led right next to the Mem ok is always on red. Also I've been using this computer for about 8 months with no issues. This happened out of the blue. To me it's a heat issue but how would I know?

AMD FX 8320
Asus M5A99FX Pro R.20
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 (2x)
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7870 2GB
Corsair 600W ATX12V

I believe everything is intact but if anything I'll redo installation. Corsair 600W ATX12V and no there isn't any noise.

Nothing smells burnt. I also used a flashlight and everything seems fine. How would I update my bios? Thanks man.

But how can I get to the bios with no picture?

I hit the power button then GPU fans start and PSU fans but that CPU red light stays on and the case fans won't go on. That's all I get. No picture at all.

It stays on running but with no picture its stuck because of the red CPU light.

I removed the old thermal paste and applied a new spread. I also made sure all cables were tight. My computer is now up and running. Thanks for everything man I appreciate it.

I have almost these same settings and am getting the same solid red CPU light when I power on the computer. Why would the thermal paste inhibit it from turning on?

My particular PSU did not have 8 pin EPU slots, and I had to use a converter to hook up two 8-bin ends from the PSU to the EPU. Could this be a problem?
