GTX285 is only mildly better than GTX280.
So this thing should only be mildly better than the GTX295...

It's gonna be obsolete by the end of the year anyway.

[citation][nom]Luscious[/nom]I believe the correct term is QFHD, not 2160p, and the monitors need four cable connections to display that resolution.[/citation]

Actually, it only takes 2 cables.

Oh man, thats some serious power! In Quad SLI i'm not sure that will even be necessary. I wonder how much wattage that energy sucker needs to stay awake at the least...

The GTX295 is 2 GTX260 GPU's on one card.

You know, as someone from the retail world, I could go Core i7 and dual GTX 285s now, or just wait for 32nm cpus and 40nm gpus at the end of the year. My C2D E4300 is clocked at 3.2 gigahertz, my GTX 260 plays all my games.

If YOU have a C2D or C2Q and either a 9800 series, GTX series, or 4xxx series card, just wait. Sure you will get more FPS now with an upgrade but its not going to be a massive increase. And even if the next generation chips are just a die-shrink, they will put off much less heat and OC better. If you don't overclock, then you will be getting better cooling and performance anyway.

All I'm saying is that now is the time to wait, not buy.

I wouldn’t worry too much about DX11...
The cards aren’t on the market and there are a total of 0 games running it. DX11 may be released this year but it will be irrelevant till 2011.

I would buy now and get a DX11 card later, but that’s just me.

The standard 295 is effectively two 260s sandwiched, this is effectively two 285s.
Also the last bit could be an argument against ever buying anything.

I know this card is with Crazy price of USD$1,700 and this price seems doesn’t make sense. It is still considerable if it was USD$ 1,000.
