Hey guys,

I'm fairly noobish at OCing but do understand the basics. I got this card mainly to play Elite Dangerous in VR with a DK2. It's pretty good but I tried OCing it a bit and, well, the results preplex me. I boosted the core clock to 1400Mhz using GPU Tweak II, the memory to 7600, and max power to 110%. These settings are not aggressive, as the I've seen Asus videos showing it overclocked at over 1500Mhz core, 8000 memory, and 125% power. I used the Uningine Heaven benchmark at full screen, extreme tessalation and 8XAA. It doesn't seem to work for me. It either crashes or gives no FPS boost at all.

Even with much lower OC settings, it seems to max out at 101 to 102 fps, and that's it. It crashes after a while of playing Elite in VR. My rig is pretty good, got an Intel i7-5820k 16Mb Corsair RAM, a brand new 1000W Corsair PSU, Samsung SSD, and an Asus X99 Mobo. Ventilation and heat are good for both the card (low 70s) and the mobo (low 40s when OCed to 4600Mhz with the Asus 5-way optimizing tool) . So, any suggestions ? The card runs fine stock or with the slight OCs available with GPU Tweak II, but I can't seem to push it any higher.

No, haven't touched the voltage. Being a noob at this, I'm very weary of tweaking voltage. Is it true that GPU Tweak II won't let you ramp up voltage beyond what is safe for the card ? Besides, all the OCs I've seen left the voltage alone and still got nearly 1500Mhz out of the core clock. Really don't know what to do...

All i can say to your question is, dont bother. You have a GPU that runs anything WITHOUT a problem, and can even run 1440p / 4k.
Playing around with OC'ing and voltages without having a lot of experience, can easily kill your card instantly (I'm talking of experience here).
Unless you really want the 5-7+ fps boost, i suggest you find a step-by-step guide on how to OC GPU's.

Well, tried various things and slight OC seems possible if I manually increase the fan speed. Which is weird, because even on auto the card barely hits 71C. Still not getting anywhere near the fps I had expected.

Yes, I maxed it out (+50Mv). Still, the only thing that prevents it from crashing is keeping the OC modest and setting the fan at about 60%. Best OC Core speed I'm getting is about 1444 - 1450Mhz. Should be able to go higher, no ?
