ASUS Matrix R9 290X vs ASUS R9 290X DirectCU II

Which one is better in performance? Here in spain the Matrix is 389€ and the DirectCu II is 423€. I wanna know which one has better performance in 1080p gaming.

They are basically the same. Same clock speed, same memory speed. They both have massive coolers for the 290X furnace.
I'd say one is directed at folks that want to keep the RoG theme and one isn't.

How so? They both have the Direct CU II cooler w/10mm heat pipes? They both have the BIOS switch. They both have high end POSCAPs. What am I missing?

Neither of them I would buy. There's been lots of reported issues with the DCU II 290X, and I myself have personally had issues with the Matrix 290X.

The differences are subtle and sort of revolve around the Matrix have the LN2 ability and the additional power phases (14 vs 8 on the CU model)....and can't beat having a memory defroster 😉 Who'd of thunk it 😉
