Asus Maximum VIII help

Hi, so I just "swapped" my $700 build for this $1500 build (friend didn't want to wait), but.... I seriously don't understand this motherboard, it's pretty confusing.

Does anyone have a guide/picture that shows where everything goes? Or a possible YouTube video tutorial (already tried some of them, didn't help)

Any help appreciated!

use your manual, it should display everything nice and proper in terms of pictures/drawings/schematics

also, most connectors are the same across motherboards

PCI'e slot for graphics card is identical
DIMM banks for RAM
Sata ports,
CPU sockets look sorta teh same
most power connectors
so on
you motherboard manual will specify what wire/cable goes where in terms of the peripheral connections like LED, power/reset button, front USB/audio

There's more than one Asus VIII Hero? Thought they only made one....

well you didnt specify "Hero" just asus maximum viii
and there are several maximus boards, Ranger, Formula, Gene, so on but the general layout is the same anyway so no worries

but yes watch the vids, and you will prob have no worries after
otherwise return and ask

Ohhhh, that's what I forgot. I remember my friend (the one I swapped with) saying something about an Asus Maximus VIII Formula, makes sense. Thanks for the videos, I'll see if I can figure them out tonight (busy day). I'll reply saying whether it worked or not, instead of creating another thread (if it doesn't).
