Hello folks, perhaps someone is still familiar with this mobo. I'm trying to squeak out a little bit more life out of my machine. Currently I'm running on 8GB of RAM but it doesn't seem like enough. Between Windows 10 and Chrome my pc is a dog. The motherboard has a limit from what I read of only the 8GBs but does anyone know if this is necessarily true? Could I get it to run 16gbs? Thanks.

not only may 8gb be your issue with 775 but any of todays memory you buy could not be compatible with it anymore and not work at all .. theres just a few stick you can still get that ''may'' work on it ..

may be best to save up on a more moderan build at least start with haswell ,,your just getting old and dated

example on what could go on ?

Open task manager and see how much memory your using with a couple of tabs open it should not be using all your memory.
Run a virus scan.
Clean the dust bunnies out of the PC.
Your hard drive is not about full is it?????
Defrag your hard drive. (not to be done if your using a SSD)
