ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA MB HELP PLEASE

Im setting up my build, first in 13 years.
Ive seen this board at newegg and TD

Im looking for a board I can OC easy with the q6600 I plan on getting. But I also want pcie 2.0 and 45nm support for the future. maybe present if they dont delay the new quads past early next month. Ive been told this is a one click solution. I figure I can run it stock for a few weeks then OC it to 3.o ghz and check out the heat. I know I might have to manually step the voltage down a notch if it gets too hot. Its supposed to be a well cooled board. does anyone have an opinion on this?
how is the HD audio on this board? I figure im saving 100 on a sound card so the 260 isnt bad for me.
Does anyone have any complaints with the HD audio? should i get a seperate sound card anyway?

Its going in a coolermaster stacker 830 if that makes a difference

Does it matter which version of this board? the extreme version is $399. doesnt seem worth it. or is it?

The board you linked uses DDR2. The Extreme version uses much more expensive DDR3.

Onboard audio works fine. Onboard does not have the optins like EAX console, etc., but it is more than sufficient.

thanks for that article badge, I will take a detailed look at it after xmas. so far I have my case and psu..thats it lol
