Built pc 3 months ago everything was fine. Last week started getting weird bootloops and pc would fail to post. Came home one night pc was off and I tried to start it up sparks flew from psu.
So I decided to go to best buy and pickup a new gpu(cx750) and see if any if my parts died.
Pc won't even post now.
I currently have it set up in a bread board layout. (only cpu power, cpu fan main power connected). I get error 53 which means no ram so that's good.
But I place 1 dimm in and it fails to post, shuts off in half a second.
Is my motherboard done or is it the cpu/ram?
Any help at all us appreciated, I've never had this problem before and have built about 6 setups.

6700k cpu
Asus strix Gtx 1070
Asus maximus hero viii
32gb gskill 2400ddr4 15151535 1.20v
Rm750 (psu that blew)
Cx 750 (current psu)
Hyper 212 evo cpu cooler
1tb WD blue
2 tb WD green
120 gb Samsung 840 ssd

Solution
pull the gpu. use the usb flashback port put the newest bios file on it and then reset the bios see if the mb is locked up or locked into no post from a shorted part.
Hi greent4 :)

First check that your DIMMs are OK. Test them in another system.
It would seem your PSU has been failing and now has failed completely and probably caused damage to the MB.
Only way to tell is to swap out the MB and test your CPU.

The CX 750 is about as bargain basement as it gets from Corsair and Bronze rated for efficiency.
The Corsair RM 750 was a gold rated unit and fully modular. You should RMA the unit if its only 3 months old and not use the CX 750 as you may be in the same situation again within 12 months.

The PSU is the lifeblood of your system and should not be underestimated. You have a decent system, why have a cheap PSU.?

@ meanmachine I just needed a psu ASAP and it's all best buy had in Stock. I don't have another system on hand to test the dimms or cpu so I'm out of luck right now.
Definitely gonna rma the rm750.
@ smorizio I'm gonna try this and report back soon. Worst case scenario cpu is gone/mobo gets rma.
Best case nothing is wrong, but I really hope it's just a failing mobo.
