Hello

My specs: Asus Maximus V Formula, 3570K, H100i, Corsair Venegeance, Asus GTX 680 DirectCUII Top, Corsair AX860i
Some days ago, my computer just did not want do boot anymore, I did not even have a boot menu. The error on the motherboard-display is 00, which means it does nothing at all (Asus motherboard manual: "Not used"). I already tried some thinks, but all of them failed:
- Change motherboard (bought a new Asus Maximus V Formula)
- Change PSU (bought a new Corsair AX860i)
- Switch RAM slots

Yesterday, I did a CMOS reset and the PC bootet again. Everything went fine the whole day. Then I shut it down, and today I wanted to start it up again: Same problem as before. I tried:
- Disconnect GPU
- Switch RAM slots again
- Disconnect the WLAN / Bluetooth card from Asus that comes with the board
- Boot in Go Mode
- Boot in Slow Mode
- Boot in Slow and Go Mode

I have no idea what to do now. The hardware is not older than 4 weeks. Does anybody has an idea, where the problem could be?

I just disconnected everything, and builded it up again outside the case with the intel stock cooler: Same problem as before :-(
When the motherboard does not find any ram, it should display an error, right? I now removed the RAM, the GPU and all the hard drives. Still error 00. Can the CPU cause an error 00?

Yes, both are connected and the CPU fan is spinning. Is it possible, that the system started up and was stable for several hours but then does not boot up again? Because yesterday everything went just fine :-/

So should I get another CPU and try if it works?

A few things about your setup that spring to mind:

1) You did not mention how much memory you have - which kit in the Vengeance line-up is it? How have you set the kit up - is it running XMP?

2) Just an FYI: For the H100i cooler, make sure you plug the pump into one of the CPU-FAN headers to start off with. The pump needs a full 12V on some of these coolers. If you use a Chassis Fan header then the voltage may be too low for the pump to start as these headers regulate in DC mode only. The CPU Fan headers on these boards regulate in PWM mode only so when you connect a DC 3 pin fan or pump they will be at 100% (12V) all the time. This ensures the CPU does not overheat. You can of course go into UEFI and disable Chassis Fan header speed control for the header the pump is connected to.

1) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 1.5V I already removed the RAM and tried to get an error that there is no RAM installed, but I still get the same error. It is running on stock Asus motherboard settings, since I have no boot menu I can not change anything.

2) I already removed the H100i and installed the stock cooler: Same problem (Error 00 > Motherboard not used)

I'll get a i5 2500K this weekend from a friend and install in in my Asus Maximus V Formula. I really hope that this works :-S

I replaced the Corsair AX860i PSU with my old beQuiet PSU 700W. I thought maybe there is a problem between the Corsair PSU's and my motherboard. But same problem as before - I would have been suprised if it worked, would have been very strange :-/ But it was worth a try...

Update 04.05.2013: I tried to boot my PC with the 2500K, and everything works fine. So the 3570K caused all the trouble. I've send it back to Intel and bought a 3770K - everything works fine now :-D

Thanks a lot for your help :-D
