Asus Maximus VI Formula Heatsink Compatibility.

So im planning to buy a maximus vi formula for the lga1150 socket, but the heatsink clearance concerns me. Because it looks like there is so much room being taken up by the CrossChill cooling, it doesnt seem like there be room for a high-grade heatsink, like the Noctua NH-D14 I plan on getting

If there's everyone who know of the heatsink clearance levels on this board, or have a rig themselves, please post below! your help is greatly appreciated!

Like most reviewers, id take the Phanteks over the Noc..... better aesthetics (come in red and black to match formula color scheme), betetr mounting system and better thermal performance

Personally, I'll be using the same board but using water cooling...if not the WC, it wud be the Phanteks

Noc does list the DH-14 as compatible ....

I'll look into Phanteks more, I referenced the NH-D14's because I saw one of Linus' videos about Noctua in general, and it seemed to be fairly outstanding.

I see no value to the AIO's .... if Im gonna put water in my PC, it's gotta do 2 things:

1. It's gotta be significantly cooler than air
2. It's gotta be significantly quieter than air

The AIO's (ALCs) are neither.

However, this performance comes at a cost; noise. At 2600RPM, the H100 isn’t a quiet unit at all and similarly at 2000RPM, it can still be quite intrusive. In terms of performance per noise, high end air coolers from Phanteks, Noctua and Thermalright still reign supreme, contrary to Corsair’s own marketing. Like other ALC units, the H100 relies too much on high RPM fans for its performance when the goal of water cooling is generally for extreme performance at low noise levels.

I'd consider a full blow WC kit so ya cud do the MoBo too
