Asus Maximus VII Gene Wi-Fi support

Does the Asus maximus vii gene come with an A/C Wi-Fi card like the Formula?

No, the Gene model has no WiFi at all.

This is really a just yes/no question so I guess he could choose that as the best answer because i also say no. You could however get a cheap WiFi card and stick that in. It shouldn't cost much. You could fit it into a USB port or get it to fit in a PCI slot. Usually good ones are around 15-20 dollars.

you can just get the mpcie combo card. The maximus gene VI comes with it when you buy the motherboard..the GENE VII doesn't sadly. so in a way..yes it DOES support wi-fi...IF you buy that.

I'd say get the VII motherboard and just get a cheap WiFi card. Better features such as improved overclocking stability, m.2 and being future-proof (allowing for newer 4th and 5th gen intel core processors based on the z97 chipset). You could always just get the mPCIe combo card off ebay (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_GENE/gallery/) but if you are really off budget you can go ahead and get the VI Gene and update the bios for the z97 chipset. Just that it might be better to get the newer one because Asus has improved with a lot of things on the z97 mobo. You are just gonna get two less USB 3.0 ports at the rear and only 3 sound ports at the back for supreme FX Impact 2. Apparently Asus has sacrificed some minimal things to allow for better quality components to be put on the motherboard and for the board to stay at the same price range as the older board.

I meant it as you could just buy the combo card separately...not to buy the older board. Considering I've owned both I know the differences..The price difference between the z87 and z97 is like $10 so it would be pointless not to.
