Hey

I have a problem, which I cannot understand at all.

It goes like this: If the computer has been powered off or shut down, it will start up, but will not show anything on the screen. It stops at a Q-code 77.
Now, if I then take out my discreet GFX and use the onboard, then it will boot just fine and show no sign of problems.
Then I can power it off and put in my GFX and then it will boot fine not showing any problems at all.

I do no understand this problem. Its like, that the first time it boots, it does not like my GFX.

I have tried the following:
- Tested GFX in other computer, with other hardware - it works just fine here.
- Tested PSU - no problems
- Tested memory for faults - nothing there
- Tried other GFX in motherboard - does the same problem.

The specs for my computer are:

Intel I5 4690K
Asus Maximus VII Ranger (newest bios)
MSI GTX 970 Gaming
16 gb G.skill TridentX 2400 MHz
EVGA SuperNova G2 850W

Solution
Okay, I have gotten the solution from someone on Asus Rog forums.

The solution to this is to use a DVI cable!!

That I did not think of at all. I have been using Displayport for the last 2-3 years and never in my life have I ever experienced such a weird problem.
But the computer booted just perfect and there seems to be no problem.
