Asus Maximus VII Ranger, Sata 3?

Im getting a SDD, Samsung 2.5 inch 250 GB 850 EVO Solid State Drive, and i heard that Sata 2 cables dont use max potential of the HDD or SDD. I dont know if I have Sata 2 or Sata 3.

There is no difference in the cables except in terms of quality.

A good quality SATA cable will support SATA III transfer speeds just fine.

You don't have either. They are just SATA cables. It's the manufacturer's which have caused all this misunderstanding. They call some of their cables "SATA III" just so they can charge more for them. It's a con trick.

Just buy good quality cables.

The difference is the SATA interface, not the cables. The cables are the same. All the SATA ports on the Asus Maximus VII Ranger are SATA 3 so you should have a couple cables that came with it.
