Asus maximus vII vs vIII

Ill be selling my z97i plus, so which one should i get? If i get the vIII i have to upgrade my cpu and ram too.

Why are you selling your existing board? A motherboard is part of a system, what is the rest of the system? Why do you think you need or want a Maximus?

I can't help you with cool. It's a matter of personal taste, and I have very little of that. I'm much more of a price/performance person.
