Asus Maximus VIII Hero I7-7700K build error

My son and are have a Maximus VIII Hero with an I7-7700K processor, 1 stick of PNY ANARCHY DDR4 2133MHZ RAM, I had 2 matching ones in it but was getting a memory error on the other one, figured it was bad, no video card yet. Trying to get it to boot to the BIOS using the onboard graphics. I'm getting a code 62 then a quick flash to 72 then a solid 62 again. All the fans and lights are on but no beeps. I tried to put an old video card into to see if I could get something up on the screen and still nothing same code. Any ideas? We are in desperate need of help!

You need a skylake CPU to update the BIOS so the kaby lake CPU will be supported

It has BIOS flashback.

Well then flash it forward. It doesn't come with a bios that supports it. You needed the hero IX for that

I did try and flash it. Not sure if it worked or not. I did do it AFTER I put the processor in. I wonder if that matters? Edit: well I pulled it out reflashed it and reinstalled it. No change.

make sure you renamed the bios file right or use the asus bios renamer.
to use the flashback put the usb stick in the right port the port should flash for 2-3 min then turn off.

So yes I'm an idiot. I didn't rename the file. So that's now done and I now have a A2 code IDE Detect and an orange boot device LED light. What is that telling me?
