Question Asus MB166C - USB C DP - Connection issues

I just picked up an Asus MB166C portable monitor. I was going to use it as my secondary monitor. Unfortunately, I get "Display connection might be limited" when I plug it into either of my computer's USB C ports. Is there a way I can get this to work with an adapter or card or something else, or is this functionality determined by the mainboard connections/limitations?

OS: Windows 10
Mainboard: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK
GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 6600

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You're going to need an adapter, something like this;
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Bidirectional-Type-C-DisplayPort-Cable/dp/B084HP1DZY
One where one end connects to the GPU and the other end tethers to the Type-C off your panel.

The reason the Type-C port on your motherboard didn't cooperate with the panel is due to the fact that the port on your board aren't Thunderbolt ports.

Thank you for the advice.

I picked up a bi-directional Type-C to DP cable; this one https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08TJ47GST/

The problem now is the screen doesn't turn on when it is plugged in., presumably because the cable isn't providing power to it from the DP port.

Any other suggestions? I'm close to just returning the monitor and calling it a loss.
