[SOLVED] ASUS MG248Q - 144Hz - HDMI 2.0 doesn't display 144Hz

1. Got the ASUS MG248Q
2. Bought HDMI 2.0

Plugged the HDMI in (only monitor) and went to Display Settings to select 144hz, but it only shows up to 60hz.
I thought the 2.0 cable would be sufficient. Is it because my monitor can only read up to HDMI v1.4?

According to the manual chapter 3-9 to 3-10, 1080p @ 144hz is only supported with DVI (Dual Link) or DisplayPort input.

That's the manual for the MG248QR (revised version) which is a different model.

The manual for the original MG248Q is here and as it states, only up to 60 Hz with HDMI.

Thank you! Ugh... if only I did my research. I thought it didn't matter... as long as it was v1.4 or above
