Hey all,

So i have had this monitor for around 2 years now, and for the last 2 years it has been perfect, everything worked as expected! Until recently...

For some reason, the monitor has stopped outputting sound from it's built in speakers AND from the earphone jack...

I have tested this with both PC via DisplayPort/HDMI connection, and with a PlayStation 4 via HDMI, the monitor will not output sound from either device.

I have gone through each and every "Device" listed under my sound settings on Windows and set each one in turn to "Default" and tested to see if any of them output sound from the monitor but no such luck, I have also tweaked and tried all the various sound out put settings (Steroe/Windows Sonic) etc to see if that was causing any issues but still no joy.

The fact that it won't output sound from two completely different devices makes me think that it's not a Windows/PlayStation setting, but that perhaps the monitor itself is the problem, but does anyone have any ideas on what it might be? What would cause both the speakers and the earphone jack to stop working?

Oh and yes, the monitor is at 100% volume setting 😀, and HDMI seems to be working fine in terms of video output, just no sound whatsoever!

Thanks in advance for your time!

I'd start off by seeing if replacing the cable changes your experience. As for your desktop, mind sharing the version(not edition) of Windows 10(assuming you're on Windows 10)? Motherboard make and model and it's BIOS version? You could try and use DDU to uninstall your GPU drivers, then manually reinstall said GPU driver in an elevated command(with the latest driver version), i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

For added measure, please list the specs to yoru build, like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:

Hey, thanks for your response,

I have tried several different HDMI cables on both console and Desktop to no avail!

Here is the information your requested

Windows 10 Version - 20H2
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z170X ultra Gaming
BIOS Version - American Megatrends Inc F22

I have tried removing and reinstalling the GPU driver a few different ways so far and nothing works, but that also doesn't explain why it won't work on the PS4 anymore either....I'm starting to think that there's some board or wire inside the monitor that's gone faulty somehow but no idea where to even start looking.
