[SOLVED] Asus Monitor artifact

Hi there, I recently got an Asus vg279q and it's been great until I turn on gsync. The monitor artifacts like crazy only with gsync on and also gsync doesn't even work. It says it's on but the game tears like crazy and doesn't cap to 144hz, I have to leave vsync on. Any help would be appreciated.

Need full system specs including what connection you are using to the monitor. Did you already search ASUS support forums or asked their support line?

I’m using display port and contacted asus which they haven’t replied to yet.

I7 8700, Evga gtx 1080 sc 16gb crucial ram and 650 Corsair psu.

I just checked after your reply, read the specs on the monitor, there is nothing that shows it has gsync https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/VG279Q/

I know that you can use free sync with gsync, maybe my monitor isn't compatible and is the reason why it artifacts?

Read through this https://www.techspot.com/article/1779-freesync-and-nvidia-geforce/ especially towards the middle where it tells you how to enable adaptive sync for nVidia drivers.

You can't just enable G-Sync on a monitor that is listed as being a FreeSync or Adaptive Display and have it work. G-Sync his it's own standard, but nVidia cards will work with adaptive sync.
