Asus Motherboard Heatsink Question

Are Asus motherboard heatsinks conductive. My mom touched my asus motherboard heatsink while it was on, but i don't notice any difference. Is an asus motherboard heatsink conductive at all. I have a m5a78l-m/usb3.

heatsinks arent connected electrically, they just sit ontop of the chip/component and remove heat through thermal conduction

Stop freaking out on your mom =P. Heat sinks are often not conductive, but they often attach their ends to ground because people touch them A LOT! No need to worry.

Ofcourse they are conductive - they are made out of metal. But their function is to transfer heat. Touching them, will not do much. Well, unless you want to forcefully connect the heatsink to electricity.

Copper and aluminum, the two most common metals in heatsinks, are electrically conductive.

...but to address the op and reiterate the other posts, touching a heatsink won't do any damage to your computer... or your mom
