I have tried 3 new Asus z370-e mother boards all three would not post.

I am trying a Maximus X formula motherboard - it will not post.

1. Using Corsair case.
2. Using Intel I7 8700K processor (on second new processor).
3. Using Ripjaws V DDR4 3200 Memory.
4.Using corsair 850W psu. Tried second new psu - no difference.
5. On current MB, the MB tries to start (fans start then immediately turn off) and I receive Q-code 00.
6. Using corsair cooler fan (not a factor not installed).
7. Using Nvidea Geforce GTX 1080 ti GPU. Tried with and without gpu installed. No difference.

Asus is of no help. They keep saying send the board in for RMA, or get replacement board from Amazon.

I have been getting replacement boards from Amazon - a lt of work rebuilding 4 computers and now a 5th?

I built a computer with Asus Z867 plus motherboard. Took three motherboards to one that one working.

Ay ideas would be appreciated.

Hello: Resolved.

The backplate of the corsair H100i V2 cpu cooler, which was installed was shorting out the cpu.

After removing it the motherboard did come up and post.
Need to put fiber washers onto the four screws holding the backplate.

Thanks for your help

The MB now is on my bench outside the case. Only the g.skill memory, intel 8700K processor, and the corsair radiator installed. Same problem.

Getting my 3rd processor today to try.
Tried 4 Asus motherboards (3 z370-gamer boards and now a Maximus X formula board).

All situations the MB's would not post.

The q code 00 is supposed indicate a cpu problem. We'll see after trying the 3rd cpu.

Only other thing is the memory. If cpu replacement does not work will replace the g.skills memory.

Other that another Motherboard?

Been in the game over 40 years - never had problems like this.
