Hi I have just installed windows 7 pro on my desktop I found the Lan Driver fine and have done all the windows updates

But for the life of me I cannot find the drivers for

Multimedia Audio Controller
PCI Simple Communications Controller

I know its an old motherboard but eh :/
If anyone can point me anywhere that may help it would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried the NT40 driver,sisvga357a,SMAXWDM,WDM_3665,6305_vista_Win7_PG537,RealtekHDaudio6015350_Vista - For the Audio with no joy apart from the realtek which fails during install

and for the PCI I have downloaded Grid.hqx - haven't got a clue how to install!! (feeling dumb)

I have trawled through the asus website and driverstock and many forums who all seem to say it is a problem on the asus drivers being out of date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Or should I just admit defeat and buy a soundcard?

Here are the computers system info

Motherboard Asus AS P4S533 MX
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.4ghz
Ram 1Gb
windows 7 pro
Graphics Gforce fx5500-dvi-tv
32bit

I still have an old Hard drive with XP on it from this desktop with all working drivers can i migrate them?

Thanks for any help

Carl

After reading all the forums and all the try this's this works and I hope that anyone looking for the same thing will see this site. It would've saved me about 5 solid hours searching and about 8 driver update attempts

You, my friend, are a gentleman and a scholar. I had to create an account to express my gratitude. I shaved hours off my life to try to solve this, and your post made it all worth it. Thanks again!
