asus n53sv; bios does not dedect hard drive, cannot set boot priority

I am getting 'Reboot and Select proper boot device....' message when I turn power on for my Asus N53SV laptop. I put the Asus driver onto my USB drive and the BIOS system says 'The build date is too old' ... so I cannot find or reboot my hard drive.

I have removed the hard drive and cleaned the connections.

Please assist if you can!

I suspect that the issue could be far more severe, if the BIOS doesn't detect the HDD. However, if the error says 'The Build date is too old', I'd strongly recommend you refer to the laptop manufacturer's official website and check your notebook support page there. You should be able to find the model and all its available downloads and utilities under 'Support'. If updating the BIOS version to the latest one doesn't help and the notebook is still not recognizing the HDD, then you should also consider doing a BIOS reset through the settings.
If the laptop is still covered by the warranty, I'd strongly recommend you refer to the laptop manufacturer's customer support for assistance. If the hard drive has failed, they should be able to assist you with the RMA procedure and hardware replacement.
If the laptop is no longer under warranty, then you should definitely check how this HDD would get recognized in another computer (internally via SATA or externally via a SATA-to-USB cable).
