Hey everyone,

After trying to talk to someone at Asus about the availability of the N550/750JK (https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/N550JK/), they kept refering me to older and not current product, does anyone know about when the Asus N550/750jk will be released in the USA? I did confirm it is only available in Europe currently.

Would like to know anyone's input on the specs or prior history of previous models.

Thanks in advance.

n750jk also out: http://www.amazon.com/N750JK-DB71-CA-Multimedia-17-3-inch-i7-4700HQ-GTX850M-4G/dp/B00K35L7EA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1399325957&sr=8-6&keywords=n750jk
but I don't believe the price.

y50 vs n550jk
Asus has better screen
same processor
same ram
Y50 has 8GB SSD memory
y50 does not have an optical drive - n550jk does
both comes with AC wireless - suitable for WANs - basically means they handle better for communal wifi. - though y50 has a slightly better chip
y50's graphics card is 20-25% better - would definitely recommend this to be a key factor if you game - far better at 1080p gaming.
both have backlit keybards
asus has 3 USB ports, y50 has 2
asus you get a free subwoofer but both laptops have good sound chips anyway
both are touchscreen
both have similar battery life
lenovo y50 is 200g lighter (give or take a few g)
hope this helped.

Why don't you believe the price, too cheap? I was thinking of going with the 512 ssd Y50, would that sway your decision? also, when I go to Asus website, the wifi for both the 750 and 55jk are listed as b/g/n, and the Y50 as AC, would that sway your decision. If I was leaning towards the 750, it is not a touchscreen, with windows 8, would you prefer a touch or non touch screen?

No I believe the price is too expensive, the n750jk I expect should only be about $1200 or so.
the 512GB SSD deal seems very sweet - though you lose the touch screen, If I had the money I'd still probably take it - though I'd have a look at what SSD it is to make sure - if it's a samsung evo then I wouldn't even care about the non touch screen loss.
Yeah the internet card was my mistake, they are both running the same chips
If you were leaning towards the 750 - I would honestly ask why? at the mo the price is higher, it's not 8.1 (significantly better than 8 ) and it has worse graphical capability.
If you pick the 512GB SSD lenovo y50 - then you lose the touch screen. The touch screen is nice, I like navigating with them, but at the end of the day, i'm a gamer, i'm going to be using a mouse (got a new one recenly <3 )
If you're looking for a 17.3" powerful notebook then I would highly recommend this: http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gs70-stealth037-p-6937.html?wconfigure=yes
if it's a little out of your budget then may be try this: http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-ge70-apache-pro012-p-6956.html?wconfigure=yes
the second is basically the same weight, with a nicer keyboard and better wireless.
the first is more expensive but it's ultra thin, and is the same or better in every way than the y50 and n750jk except for the touch screen.
hope I helped.
