I bought this laptop to do some intense gaming like GTA V, NFS 2015, FIFA 2015. I was pretty disappointed when my GPU temp would rise up to 80C and CPUs to 70C (readings by SpeedFan app). I don't know if that is safe or not. I started to think there is a defect with my laptop. I got those temps when playing World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria on ultra settings (it's not a heavy game like the ones mentioned above) so I don't know what will happen if I play the other games. I am worried now. I am using windows 8.1 and I didn't install or update any drives on my laptop.
In case you need it, here are my laptop's specs:
Asus N550JX
Intel core i7-4720HQ @2.6Ghz up to 3.6Ghz
4GB DDR3 Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M
16GB DDR3 RAM (I know its much but I got it for free)
Full HD (1920x1080) Display with Touch screen
Windows 8.1

Solution
That is quite common for laptops to get those temps. I would update all drivers if you can as this will make a difference in temps. Also uninstall asus liveupdate, instant key and the power4gear profile from the control panel. Makes a huge difference in temps.

Plus remember that this laptop is not made to game. It is designed for multimedia use. The g series is specifically made for this.

Try the above things and let me know if anything improves.

Solution
The problem is I wanted a G series laptop but I couldn't afford it (my budget is around 1000$ USD and its for 1300-1400$ USD in my country) so I am kinda stuck with this laptop
I also have a weird stutter/chopping when playing GTA V and CPU heat would get to 75C while using a cooling fan, I don't know how to solve this.
Thanks for your help

I play on high-very high settings on GTA V. The fps keeps jumping, example when I'm driving it suddenly chops and stutters and goes back normal for 2-3 seconds and stutters again. The problem keeps repeating like that.
Also when I play a World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria version I get around 50 FPS in crowded areas and it randomly drops to 20 for 2-3 seconds and goes back up to 50FPS. It's annoying and I think a laptop with those specs should run that game smoothly.
I'll be using the laptop for gaming mainly. It's the 3rd day today since I bought it.

Hey, thanks for the uninstalll tip. Now my core temp is around 40C using speed fan and 58-65 using Realtemp (previous reading was 75-80 using real temp and 60-70 using Speedfan)
Will provide more update tomorrow on the FPS drop.
Thanks again!
