I have an Asus N56V laptop and after several months of no use due to a hard-drive malfunction, my laptop is up and running again. The only problem i have now is the red cross on my battery icon and the words 'No battery is detected'. The charge light is on and it will run off the ac adaptor but if disconnected, off she goes. PLEASE HELP ME i just want it fix so i can sell it.

I have just been playing around with the battery and have been able to get the icon to change to 'plugged in but not charging' but as soon as i click on the icon it changes back to 'no battery is detected'

Hi!
Did you ever find a solution to this problem?
I have an Asus Zenbook Prime UX32VD, and it seems to be experiencing the same problem. Usually, it says "No battery is detected." Sometimes it says "plugged in, not charging," but immediately changes to "no battery is detected" once I mouse over it.

I've tried updating the battery drivers, and uninstalling/reinstalling the battery drivers; I also cracked open the case and checked the physical connection of the battery, and it was fine. Asus told me to try a system refresh, but I decided to try a system restore first (the problem manifested after windows updates installed, and I have restore point immediately prior to the updates). However, the system restore failed because an error was found on C:, it suggested running chkdsk r/. Chkdsk failed too...

(BTW: The laptop runs dual SSDs in raid 0. Could this be causing some of the disk problems?)
